Quarta Mobile has announced a version of Windows CE 6.0 tailored for netbooks and MIDs (mobile internet devices). The San Jose company says the open-source “MID-Shell for Windows Embedded CE 6.0” is designed as an alternative to Linux for low-end devices with SSDs (solid state disks).
