The AllSeen Alliance, a cross-industry collaboration to advance the Internet of Everything through an open source software project, today announced 13new members have joined the initiative including industry giants IBM and Pivotal.
Analyst predictions estimate that four billion people will be connected to more than 30 billion devices, services and applications by 2020. This level of connectivity will create unprecedented bandwidth demand on IT infrastructure, heightening the need for data security and privacy assurances. Creating a world of smart, connected things also requires infrastructure that can address new IoT-sized challenges: how we provision people and things, the ability to analyze and handle data, scalable platforms and testing environments for growth.
The AllSeen Alliance’s newest members include experts in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, security and IoT platforms. These additions affirm the industry’s ever-evolving IT demands and indicate a shared belief that only the rate of collaborative development can match the pace of industry change.
