Are Google’s Cloud Applications Ready to Unseat Microsoft Office?

As noted here yesterday, VentureBeat has its CloudBeat 2011 conference going on right now in Redwood City, Calif, where pundits are weighing in on the state of cloud computing. Allan Leinwand, CTO at Zynga, Google VP Amit Singh, and John Dillon, CEO of Engine Yard are a few of the speakers at the conference. Google’s Singh spoke at the conference yesterday, taking issue with Microsoft’s assertions that it is winning in the enterprise cloud business, and noting that many enterprises are choosing Google Apps instead of the Microsoft Office productivity suite.
