Matador writes “There has been some debate about Linux on the desktop lately. Some, including Red Hat, have essentially written off Linux on the desktop…Windows’ success was anything but pre-ordained, even on the Intel platform. Windows would not achieve hegemony until the mid-1990s, and a significant portion of software (games) would not migrate to Windows until years after that. Who’s to say that Linux won’t be dominant on the desktop in (less than) seven years’ time?
