The publication of the Linux Phone Standards (LiPS) draft is the first from the LiPS group since it was founded in November 2005. While other Linux groups are working to optimize the Linux kernel to improve performance-related issues, LiPS is focusing on the higher levels of Linux that enable applications and services in the mobile world.
