Eucalyptus Systems, creators of the Eucalyptus private cloud platform, has announced a partnership with Red Hat to offer cross-cloud compatibility and expanded platform choice in the cloud. The two companies are working together to provide Eucalyptus support for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and Eucalyptus compatibility with the Apache Deltacloud application programming interface (API). The integration of the technology is aimed at enterprises who want to use Red Hat virtualized environments as springboards to secure private clouds based on Eucalyptus. Users will be able to run applications privately with the Eucalyptus platform, or on public clouds supported by Deltacloud–a hybrid approach that Eucalyptus has been pursuing for some time.
