First Haiku OS User Group in the US Announced

A group of supporters of the Haiku (an open source OS inspired by the BeOS) in the San Francisco Bay Area have announced the first Haiku User Group (HUG) in the United States: the Northern California Haiku User Group, or NORCAL-HUG for short. According to the announcement, NORCAL-HUG’s mission is to build and grow a Haiku community in Northern California, and the group plans activities such as periodic user group meetings, online community building through a mailing list and website (to be announced), participation in local conferences and other open source events, as well as networking with other user groups and local/regional educational institutions.
