The GNUMail.app project started in late ’98. The main goal was to develop a
free mail application in the spirit of the original NeXT’s Mail.app application.
In order to best reproduce this application, we decided to use GNUstep, a free
implementation of the OpenStep specification provided by NeXT (now Apple) in the
mid nineties.”
