InformationWeek.com reports that “IBM is investing $1 million in its lower Manhattan offices on Madison Avenue to create a facility for demonstrating the capabilities of Linux to Wall Street. IBM’s Linux Center of Competence is scheduled to open in September in a bid to dislodge Sun Microsystems as the dominant provider of hardware and operating systems to the financial-services market.”
