BANGALORE: IT major IBM on day said that it would set up a Linux and open source practice at the National Institute of Smart Government (NISG) to promote affordable computing in the country.
IBM said it has signed an MoU with Hyderabad-based NISG, aimed at helping India develop different eGovernment applications, using open standards and IBM’s e-governance frameworks, a statement said here.
“Linux is increasingly being used in the eGovernment space worldwide. We are leveraging the private sector resources through a public-private partnership mode in e-Governance spade in India, which will help drive greater transparency, agility, better citizen service and quality education,” NISG CEO J Satyanarayana said.
