IBM has become the top seller in the overall server market in India, for the year 2004, the IDC‘s Asia/Pacific Quarterly Enterprise Server Tracker, Q4 2004 states. IBM‘s overall server revenues grew 16 per cent in 2004 compared to 2003 that made it the market leader with 30.5 per cent revenue share. According to IDC, IBM continued to lead the x86 server market in India with 35.7 per cent revenue share in 2004 compared to 2003. In the Linux server market in India, IBM was the leader with a 10.8 point lead over its nearest competitor in 2004.
