Taiwanese surveillance system vendor Sanyan Computer is shipping a Linux-based “NDVR” (networked digital video recorder) aimed at distributed industrial applications. Based on an X86 processor with MPEG4 coprocessor, Sanyan’s NDVR system can send real-time D1 (DVD quality) video over a 2Mbps network link, the company claims.
