The MAME (Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator) project has announced a license change, moving from the old, unique “MAME License” to the GNU GPLv2-or-later for the full codebase, with many individual components available under the 3-clause BSD License. The announcement notes that a considerable effort went into the relicensing process.
