Mandrake Linux Servers Invade the Internet
----------------------------------------
According to recent Netcraft surveys, the use of MandrakeSoft's
Advanced Extranet Web Server has risen significantly, and is now the
eleventh most widely used web server in the world. The number of
publicly accessible Apache Advanced Extranet Servers grew by 150%
during the past 12 months, and by 66% during the last 6 months alone
(176% on a yearly basis). For comparison purposes, the total number of
web servers grew by 29% during the past 12 months and only by 3.6%
during the last 6 months.

The Mandrake Linux "Advanced Extranet Server" is an
enhanced/high-performance version of the famous Apache web server. It
is packaged exclusively by MandrakeSoft as a turn-key solution -- very
easy to install and configure, and includes the most popular modules
such as mod_php, mod_perl, mod_mysql, mod_ssl, and many others.

It's great to see that Mandrake is finally being discovered as an ideal
distribution for servers as well as the desktop. Read the complete

Spotlight on the Linux Weekly News
----------------------------------------
Many online magazines have been struggling lately, and Linux Weekly
News is no exception. Since January of 1998, the Linux Weekly News has
been publishing an online newsletter about the Linux operating system
and Open Source/Free Software. The Linux Weekly News is a valuable news
resource and an important piece of Linux history; we hope it stays an
active and healthy part of the community. Show your support for LWN.net
by contributing a few dollars on their donations page.
