The person who programmed the latest internet worm now has a $250,000 bounty on his hard drive.
Microsoft Corp. offered the reward on Thursday for anyone helping to catch the person who created the MyDoom.B worm. It’s a variant of a worm that
began spreading across the internet this week, known as MyDoom or Novarg.
On Wednesday, SCO Group offered $250,000 for information about the author of the original MyDoom worm.
“This worm is a criminal attack,” said Brad Smith, Microsoft’s senior vice-president and general counsel. “Microsoft wants to help the authorities
catch this criminal.”
