Big IT users are still most likely to be based in the capital, with 40 per cent of the MIS100 domiciled in Wellington, versus 36 per cent in Auckland – unchanged from last year. Together, they employed 8800 IT staff.
Open source operating system Linux is being used by 35 per cent of organisations in the MIS100, up from 29 per cent last year, but only to a limited extent. Only a few expect to increase their investment in Linux over the coming year.
