A number of new providers of OpenStack-based managed services and infrastructure tools have cropped up this week. AMAX, a California-based company focusing on OpenStack™, Hadoop and Parallel Computing, has delivered what it is billing as “a total turnkey OpenStack Private Cloud solution, powered by Piston OpenStack™.” Meanwhile, Blue Box, a managed cloud infrastructure provider, has joined the OpenStack Foundation as a corporate sponsor and is offering solutions for quickly deploying OpenStack private clouds.
OpenStack is being used in a number of types of cloud deployments, but it’s no accident that so many companies are focused on it as a conduit for quickly launching a private cloud deployment. AMAX bills its Piston OpenStack-based solution as being capable of facilitating a deployment in minutes.
