Red Hat says the Swedish Armed Forces, which hasn’t taken the field since the early eighteenth century, is going to join the Red Hat-Microsoft skirmish and migrate its servers from NT to Red Hat Linux for security reasons. Red Hat has so far taken almost 200 servers and is running applications developed in-house. Software compatibility and ease of migration were also cited as reasons.
