Sabayon Linux is not only a Gentoo-based distribution, it’s a place where innovative ideas come to life. One of them is Entropy for sure: a fast, Portage-compatible binary package manager written from scratch and featuring text, graphical frontends (including a notification applet) along with management applications to create your own software repository. But it’s not ended here yet, they have a plan, funded by the NLnet Foundation, that aims to bring the “web2.0” concept to the software level (“software2.0”), so isn’t it something worth a read? Clearly, it’s not all about that, here we have: Linux Kernel 2.6.25.9 plus wireless and filesystem patches, X.Org 7.3, GNOME 2.22.2, KDE 3.5.9/4.0.5, EeePC support, proprietary drivers support, Compiz Fusion 0.7.6 and so forth. Downloads are available via Bittorrent or their mirrors.
