Network functions virtualization (NFV) and software-defined networking (SDN) are opening the way to increased efficiency and reduced costs, but providers are encountering new challenges as they evolve NFV from trials to network-wide deployments.
As OTTs offer more and more services, providers are fighting to keep their networks from becoming commodities by adding new services they can monetize such as Internet of things (IoT), video, and data analytics offerings.
