The Department of Computer Science at the University of Iowa seeks qualified applicants to provide Unix systems support in a large heterogeneous research and educational computing network. The individual will work as a member of the Computing Support Group that manages research computing systems for roughly 100 faculty members in the Departments of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Statistics, as well as three instructional labs used by over 1,000 graduate and undergraduate students.
Duties include operating system support, security administration, network administration, application installation and maintenance, documentation, and hardware support. Red Hat Linux and HPUX are the primary operating systems supported.
