My background with Linux: I started using Linux in 1997 starting with Redhat, followed by Mandrake, Gentoo, Debian, and finally Ubuntu starting with the first generation. My first user interface on Linux was WindowMaker, later on I moved to Fluxbox for a few years, KDE for a few weeks, and eventually settled on GNOME permanently.
