I think open source is a huge flattener and will continue to be. We already see it in the rise of Linux. Microsoft’s chief competitor today is a group of people basically collaborating for free online to produce an alternative operating system. We see it in Firefox, a new Web browser produced by a collaboration between a 19-year-old at Stanford and a 20-year-old in New Zealand, and it was downloaded millions of times in the first month that it was put up.
