Transmeta promises to pump up the power

Transmeta, under fire from some critics for chips seen as underpowered, hopes
to eradicate that complaint with its next-generation Crusoe 2.0, reports ZDCOUK.

After less than a year in the market, the startup chipmaker is already at work
on its next processor, with the aim of continuing to reduce power consumption
while pushing the envelope on performance.

replication technology to the suite.

Dell gets serious about sound

Starting next week, Dell will offer two Dimension Pentium III-based 4100 systems with the THX certification, says David Bowes, Dell’s marketing manager for information appliances. The company will also soon ship a Pentium 4 system with the THX certification, he says.

The term is becoming as ubiquitous as “uses electricity”… and is probably about as redundant. Well… if they aren’t information appliances what are they supposed to be doing, heating the room?
