Linux PR announces that the June 2000 issue of Linux Magazine is now
available online.

As forces gather behind open source applications for Linux, a
long term supplier, Applix Inc., has spun off a wholly owned
subsidiary, VistaSource to offer its set of applications both
as a desktop package and online, reports ZDNet.

Sideware, a leading developer of customer service solutions for e-businesses, today announced that it has signed an e-business partnership agreement with NextClick: The Personalization Agency, a Calgary-based network of personalization technology companies, reports Canada NewsWire.

Publicly, Sun Microsystems CEO Scott McNealy never tires of pointing out the faults of Microsoft and of Windows 2000 in particular., but privately, his company is relying on Microsoft software to manage an essential Internet forum for software developers, reports CNET News.

The original Linux Labs (since 1995, not the new “Linux Lab”) has
introduced a 1U rackmount server using AMD’s Duron processor.

The new Duron 1U server comes preconfigured with Debian or Redhat
GNU/Linux and serial console. Web-based system administration tools are

From a Reuters story: Job cuts at Internet companies in August jumped 55 percent from July, led by cuts in the Web retail sector, according to outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. Job cuts in the dotcom sector from December 1999 through Aug. 23 totaled 11,785, up from 7,592 posted through July 23, with retailers accounting for the biggest portion of the layoffs.
