Intel Corporation and its Dialogic subsidiary have announced the availability of its Linux application development kit. With platform support for this mainstream operating system, Dialogic enables the Linux developer community to create robust voice-based Internet and e-Commerce applications like voice portals, multimedia messaging and Web-enabled contact centers, said a press release on LinuxPR.

This new release of IDS.2000 is an effort to bring the power and memory capacity of Compaq’s 64-bit Alpha system to the Linux market place.

NeTraverse has a announced the October 2000 availability of the 2.0 release of Win4Lin Desktop, which allows Linux users to run popular Windows applications such as MS Office, Quicken and Lotus out of the box at native speeds, according to a press release from Business Wire.

Linuxlab releases streamlined server Linux

Several Linuxlab press releases hit LinuxPR Thursday. Among them: Linuxlab announced the release of its version 1.0 server operating system, designed as a fast reliable server operating system.
Also, the company agreed to a strategic alliance with Red Flag Software of China to develop and market Linux software.
In addition, the company announced its new 800 MHz ThinRackTM 4-in-1 server configuration. When combined with the Linuxlab FarManTM management software, the new 4-in-1 provides an advanced Linux-based server-clustering solution.
Finally, Linuxlab introduced EasyMailer, a Web-based e-mail server enabling Palm personal digital assistants to access e-mail services from a simple browser.

The new subsidiary will support developers in California and market software in China, according to Business Wire.

Business Wire reports the joint initiative will complement the current infrastructure and technical services offerings of eLinux by providing key enterprise level solutions from TeamLinux.
