Informix, Compaq, SuSE team up on e-business platform
Informix Corporation has announced that the Informix Dynamic Server.2000 database engine running with SuSE Linux on Compaq Computer Corporation Alpha processor is now available for customer shipments, according to LinuxPR. This new release of IDS.2000 is an effort to bring the power and memory capacity of Compaq’s 64-bit Alpha system to the Linux market place.

Linuxlab releases streamlined server Linux
Several Linuxlab press releases hit LinuxPR Thursday. Among them: Linuxlab announced the release of its version 1.0 server operating system, designed as a fast reliable server operating system.
Also, the company agreed to a strategic alliance with Red Flag Software of China to develop and market Linux software.
In addition, the company announced its new 800 MHz ThinRackTM 4-in-1 server configuration. When combined with the Linuxlab FarManTM management software, the new 4-in-1 provides an advanced Linux-based server-clustering solution.
Finally, Linuxlab introduced EasyMailer, a Web-based e-mail server enabling Palm personal digital assistants to access e-mail services from a simple browser.
