Provides Users with Single InBox and Address Book
NUREMBERG, Germany, September 22, 2009 – Open-Xchange, the leading provider of open source groupware, now gives users the ability to consolidate any kind of existing webmail accounts – for example from Google and Yahoo — into a folder in Open-Xchange so they can managed more easily.
In addition, users can now integrate and merge their address books from Google Mail Gmail and Facebook into Open-Xchange. New contact details are added automatically providing users easy access to the latest contact information – all from one place.
“Open-Xchange follows the path of Social OX, which we announced in July, to add new features that break the silos of isolated information, whether that is e-mail, contacts, calendar information or documents,” said Rafael Laguna, CEO of Open-Xchange. “This latest release is another step forward to integrated and effective teamwork.”
Open-Xchange recently introduced a new groupware concept called “Social OX,” which aggregates e-mail and contact information in one place — whether personal or business — avoiding time-consuming searching and giving users access to information anywhere, anytime and with any device.
Additional new features of Open-Xchange 6.12 include:
· Publishing document folders and sharing documents with users who do not have Open-Xchange accounts without sending large file attachments via e-mail.
· Importing contacts and appointments to private and public folders.
· Exporting contacts from private and public folders as CSV and vCard formats.
· Improved functionality of team calendars.
· Backing up and archiving e-mails on the user’s computer.
· Redesigned user interface of the OXtender for Microsoft Outlook software add-on.
Open-Xchange is installed by more than 3,500 companies and organizations worldwide.
